About the course:
The ESL Crew Business English Course is designed specially to improve your overall communication in English.
The course is divided into 3 key parts:
- Build Your Business Vocabulary
- Improve Your Communication Effectiveness
- Improve Your Business Writing

Each Session Duration = 1 hour 30 minutes
Total Course Duration* = 11 weeks
What you will learn:
1. Build Your Business Vocabulary:
Duration: 2 Sessions (3 hours)
Here, you will learn and practice new words, phrases, expressions, and idioms appropriate for business.
2. Improve Your Communication Effectiveness:
This part is divided into 3 segments:
1. Speaking Skills and Mechanics
Duration: 3 sessions (4.5 hours)
These sessions will work on improving pronunciation problems (including accent modification) and any particular grammar difficulties you have when speaking and writing.
2. Listening Skills and Strategies
Duration: 1 session (1.5 hours)
Here, you will learn and practice active listening and some techniques you can use to improve your listening comprehension.
3. Presentation and Conversation Skills
Duration: 3 sessions (4.5 hours)
These sessions will develop your presentation skills (with practice) and your ability to communicate 1-1 and in groups.
You will also improve small talk and your ability to participate in meetings.
3. Improve your Business Writing:
Duration: 2 sessions (3 hours)
Here you will learn all about writing letters and emails appropriate for business.
These sessions will include format (types of letters/emails), organization, layout and punctuation, useful phrases etc… and you will have the opportunity to put this into practice and receive feedback.
After each session, you will be given self-study tasks and activities to practice what was learned.
After the Course:
Once you have completed the course you will have advanced your ability to communicate effectively as a business professional!

- A strong internet connection
- A laptop/PC/Tablet
- Headphones
- Download Zoom or Skype for meetings

How Sessions Work:

I use an online whiteboard to display session material.
You and I can annotate (write, draw, highlight etc.) using Zoom.
We can share our screens to show media (e.g. Youtube videos, news articles, listening activities, etc.)
At the end of each lesson, I can send you a PDF of the lesson material we used for you to revise later.
Additional Sessions:
We will do our best to complete each session and its content on time.
However, each person learns differently and sometimes more time may be required or requested by a student.

ESL Crew started in 2017 as a Facebook and Instagram group for my students to interact and share ideas, posts, and ask questions in English about English.

My Name is Aaron.
I’m an English teacher from New Zealand and I now live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
I provide business English lessons and courses online. My teaching style is student-centred with a focus on real-world English.
My Teaching History
Experience:
10+ years (since 2010)
Mainly adult learners from all over the world.
Qualifications:
CELTA (Cambridge Teaching Cert.)
Bachelor of Business and Marketing (AUT University)
I decided to teach English in 2010 after I graduated from university. It sounded like a fun job and a great way to travel and meet people from around the world.
I taught at some of the best-rated language schools in Auckland, New Zealand for a few years and after that, I moved to Canada where I continued to teach and coach adults in English.
At my most recent school, I achieved a 99% recommendation rate. This was taken from teacher evaluations performed by a total of 113 students over 3 years.
In that same sample, I had 100% for categories of: clarity of lesson, punctuality, assistance, and engaging lessons.
Over my career, I have taught a large variety of classes. I particularly enjoy grammar, pronunciation, business English, conversation skills, and IELTS.
I started teaching students online when the COVID-19 pandemic started in March 2020 and launched my personal website ESLCrew.com in 2022.
